The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.

But this year, as protests across the Middle East have pushed up the rate of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one company is taking benefit of the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
